NSF funds GeoTREE Center on "the Interdisciplinary Research Experience in Hyperspectral Imaging (IDREHSI)" program which is a new NSF REU site that will focus on introducing young scientists to a highly interdisciplinary research environment with fundamental and applied research in hyperspectral imaging. GeoTREE center received research grant from Iowa Water Center / USGS for the project titled "Community-wide Urban Storm Water Planning Utilizing LiDAR, the WinSLAMM Model and GIS.

A new book, Spatial Decision Support Systems: Principles and Practices, is published in November 2010 (CRC Press) by Ramanathan Sugumaran and John DeGroote.
