GeoTREE and John Deere Research Collaboration

NGA NURI Kickoff Meeting on May 6, 2010

The GeoTREE Center will be hosting visitors from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) on May 6, 2010. The purpose of the visit is a kickoff meeting for the NGA University Research Initiative funded project entitled 'Real-time Predictive Framework for Mosquito-Borne Diseases' which was awarded to the GeoTREE Center along with collaborators from the Iowa State Medical Entomology Department and the Purdue Terrestrial Observatory.

GeoTREE researchers receive NSF MRI Grant

Drs. Sugumaran, Pease, and Petrov (as well as Dr. Clayton in Biology and Dr. Kidd in Physics) received a $167,000 grant from the National Science Foundation under the Major Research Instrumentation Program (MRI). "Acquisition of a Hyperspectral Imaging System for Multidisciplinary Research" will allow the acquisition of technology for research and teaching applications in geography, biology, geology, and environmental sciences, as well as other potential areas such as the preservation of artwork or textile analysis.
